CONTINENCE / Pelvic Floor TRAINING
and POTENCY TRAINING
Erection disorder and urinary incontinence are the basic symptoms of patients who had radical prostate surgeries. In many countries of Western Europe, this surgery is not equivalent with the end of treatment(!). The patient, in order to get closer to the functional state he was before the surgery, has to undergo an intensive rehabilitation under the supervision of urologists and physiotherapists in a specialized clinic.
Urology rehabilitation / Rehabilitative Urology is a distinct and very important element of the further treatment!
This branch of rehabilitation focuses on urologic diseases and treatment of post operative complications, such as previously mentioned erectile dysfunction or urinary incontinence.
The first and most important step is so-called training of continence (pelvic floor training) and training of potency (Erection Rehabilitation / Erection Muscles Training).
The modern concept of erectile dysfunction treatment is based on the prevention of penile fibrosis, caused by insufficient blood and oxygen supply to the erection muscles and corpora cavernosa of the penis, which is caused by postoperative deterioration and lack of function of this organ. ("Use it or lose it! – unused organ fades").
In the case of a healthy man, the nature shapes up with the issue, for instance, when we sleep. During our sleep, there are at least 5 unconscious erections. The organ is such important that it retains its function by itself.
The training of potency and urinary continence HAS TO be start at least 4 weeks after the surgery and last intensively for even a year!!! After this period, a patient HAS TO go into a stabilization phase. The consistency of the training is reduced to 2 times per week with the duration of 40 minutes – for the rest of patient’s life!
Numerous scientific studies have proven that the most possible progress in terms of urinary incontinence after radical prostate surgeries is achieved in the first year after the operation, whereas the period of potency regaining can reach up to 3 years dated from the day of the surgery. One of the most important factors (for the effects concerning the erection in particular) is the method used to operate the patient (with the erection nerves kept or without them). The information about other, additional methods ("second and third-line therapy" ) of regaining the erection or urinary continence should be provided by the urology specialist.
The multimodal and professional urologic rehabilitation (in a specialized clinic) is the foundation for further treatment after urological operations!!!
For many years, it is the basis for the treatment of urinary incontinence for both men and women.
One of the biggest components of urologic rehabilitation is nothing else than training of the erection muscles and pelvic floor muscles.
The new and utterly helpful device in potency regaining and incontinence treatment is
These exercises are performed on a specially designed training machine called S6-PRIAPOS.
Despite that potency and continence training has to be performed for the rest of one’s life, the pleasure from the exercises and their effects compensate the effort. It is thanks to the fact that ANDROS PROJECT is not only the exercises focused on the gains in the field of potency and urinary continence but also an all-purpose workout of the whole body as presented in the section - Why is it worth to train?
With utmost pleasure, we invite you to participate and we wish you all a fruitful work with
